She for Democracy
A democracy needs women. Half of the political power should be in the hands of women, instead there are often lone female fighters among a majority of male suits. Whether in the Bundestag, in the state governments or in the city council, men occupy more offices and decision-making positions at all levels. We are still a long way from representing the diversity of women.
With the "She for Democracy" program, the Equal Opportunities Office of TU Dortmund University and the Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Dortmund want to motivate women to get involved in politics. Over the course of seven months, the participants get to know the political structures in Dortmund, accompany active female councillors from various political groups in local political events and strengthen their personal skills in various workshops.
