MinTU - Mädchen in die TU Dortmund

© Equal Opportunities Office TU Dortmund University
We want to make mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (STEM) really tasty for you: With lots of fun and experimentation!

MinTU is short for Mädchen in die TU Dortmund and means "Girls into TU Dortmund University" and that is also the aim of the project.
The mentoring project offers around 50 schoolgirls between the ages of 12 and 14 the opportunity to get to know TU Dortmund University and its STEM departments. For one year, they take part in workshops in the STEM departments and meet with their mentor and other girls in their mentoring group. Girls from all types of schools in Dortmund and the surrounding area who are interested in studying can take part.

Did you know that...
...mentoring comes from the Greek term mentor, which means experienced advisor . It is a process in which an experienced mentor passes on information and tips to a less experienced mentee.

Information to schools

After the fall break, schools in Dortmund and the surrounding area will receive information about the project by post. The information packs contain flyers and posters about the project.

Around 40 schoolgirls can take part in the new project round in 2024. Registration for the project takes place via the registration form and is possible until 31.12.2023.

To find out more about the project, an information event will take place on December 5, 2023 at 5 p.m. in the Rudolf Chaudoire Pavilion, Baroper Str. 297. Please register with details of how many people will be attending by November 30 to Ms. Jill Timmreck, mintutu-dortmundde.
