Girls*Day - Discover the TU Dortmund University
Every year on the fourth Thursday in April, Girls*Day takes place throughout Germany. On this day, girls can get to know professions in which there are still too few women. Facilities, companies and institutions throughout Germany open their doors to give you an insight into their day-to-day work. At TU Dortmund University, the STEM departments will be presenting themselves.
Who can take part?
Girls*Day is open to students in grades 5 to 10.
What happens on Girls*Day at TU Dortmund University?
On Girls*Day, scientists, employees, students and trainees will show you how they work and what you can learn. And you can get active yourself, take a close look at everything, try out lots of new things and ask questions.
How can you register?
You can register online for the TU Dortmund University program via the official Girls*Day portal. To find us on the Girls*Day radar , simply type "TU Dortmund University" into the search bar and click on "Find". We publish our program every year at the end of January/beginning of February. From then on, registration for Girls*Day at TU Dortmund University is also open.
What happens after registration?
After successful registration you will receive a confirmation email from us. Before Girls*Day, we will also send you all the information about the meeting point on campus and the daily schedule by e-mail. It is therefore important that you enter a valid e-mail address when registering and check your e-mail regularly!
What do you need to arrange with the school?
You can be released from lessons to take part in Girls*Day. To do this, your parents must sign an application for time off school, which you must hand in to the school before Girls*Day. You can find the application form and further information about Girls*Day - also interesting for your parents - in the material center of the Competence Center.
How long does the event last?
The event lasts approx. six hours.
How much does it cost?
Participation in Girls*Day is free of charge.
