12+ Mentoring for boys
12+ is a mentoring program for students between the ages of 12 and 16 who are interested in subjects from the social and cultural sciences or would like to get to know them better.
Until now, more women than men have studied these subjects, although men are at least as well suited to them as women.
At 12+, pupils are brought together with experienced students so that they can learn from them. The student or mentor accompanies a small group of pupils and reports on their study experiences. During the project, private mentoring meetings and workshops are held at TU Dortmund University where the 12+ departments introduce themselves. This provides an opportunity to test your skills, try out lots of things, get to know the university campus and ask questions.
The participating departments
12+ comprises the departments at TU Dortmund University that are presenting themselves during the project. They are, in order:
- Department 12: Educational Science, Psychology and Sociology
- Department 13: Rehabilitation Sciences
- Department 14: Human Sciences and Theology
- Department 15: Cultural Studies
- Department 16: Arts and Sports Sciences
