Following the empowerment program "Get involved - do politics locally" (Misch dich ein - Mach Politik vor Ort), there is a new event focusing on women in local politics. After all, there will still be a lack of women in politics in Germany in 2022.

On May 18, the Equal Opportunities Office, together with the Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Dortmund and the VHS, invites you to speed dating with Dortmund councilwomen. This event is all about local politics in Dortmund. Political pioneer Marianne Wendzinski will be welcoming guests. She was not only the first female mayor in Dortmund, but also the first woman to hold this office in Germany. Some of the participants in the "Get Involved - Do Politics Locally" program will present their project from the program and current Dortmund councilwomen will answer all questions about their tasks and everyday life as a council member in a speed dating session.

Participation is free of charge.

The "Get involved - do politics locally!" program aims to give female students interested in politics an understanding of local political structures, show them the scope for action and motivate and encourage them to get involved in politics.
