On the cover: Virginia Woolf
Virginia Woolf was an important British writer and central figure in 20th century feminist literature. Born in London in 1882, she gained recognition not only for her innovative narrative techniques, but also for her profound socio-critical perspectives on the role of women, both in literature and in social life. Today she is considered a pioneer of literary modernism. In works such as Mrs. Dalloway and To the Lighthouse, Woolf explored the inner lives of her female protagonists and challenged traditional gender roles. She argued that women are often prevented from fully expressing their creativity and identity by patriarchal structures. In her famous essay A Room of One's Own, she calls on women to create their own space - both physically and mentally - to write and express themselves. In the 1970s, A Room of One's Own became a central text of the women's movement. Woolf's writings are not only literary masterpieces, but also powerful manifestations of feminist thought. They encourage women to make their voices heard and their perspectives visible in a male-dominated world.
