MinTU group with full energy at paddle tennis
- MinTU
A meeting of the MinTU mentees and mentors took place on Saturday. The group went to play paddle tennis at PadelCity in Dortmund.
The students had unanimously decided on this trip after being given a small selection of community activities to choose from. Paddle tennis, an exciting mix of tennis and squash, is becoming increasingly popular in Europe and offered the group the perfect opportunity to try something new.
The Menotrinnen report on the trip:
"We got to the course early and took the opportunity to watch other teams play. The enthusiasm and excitement grew and we could hardly wait to play ourselves.
In perfect weather conditions, we took to the pitch, which was surrounded by glass walls. One of the mentees was a pupil who had already tried paddle tennis in PE lessons and was able to give us some valuable tips. The first few rallies turned out to be difficult, but over time a good flow of play developed and the students were full of enthusiasm.
During the entire two hours, they only occasionally took a short break to drink. From time to time, we had to search for our balls on the field, which were energetically hit far beyond the boundaries of the pitch."
Looking back, mentees and mentors were delighted with the paddle tennis and everyone agreed:
They would repeat this experience any time without exception and the trip showed the group once again that it is always worth trying new things!
