The first workshop day in MinTU Year 2024 took place for the students and their mentors on April 12 at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the Department of Physics.

The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering focused on the construction of towers. First of all, the participants thought about what requirements a tower must have in order to grow stably upwards. Equipped with paper and glue, the girls created creative and unusual structures. The results, some of which resembled the Burj Khalifa and the Eiffel Tower in abstract form, were assessed and evaluated in terms of their load-bearing structure. It was noticeable that the girls built remarkable towers with a lot of creativity, intuition and imagination as well as very good cooperation. The workshop was rounded off with a tour of the department and information about the courses.

In the Department of Physics , the girls went "through the day with the perfect wave". The students explored where sound and waves can be found in their everyday lives and what they have to do with brushing teeth, eating cereal or cooking. With experiments and handicrafts, they embarked on a journey through physics and got to the bottom of everyday phenomena. A short lecture on studying physics was a snack on top.

MinTU will continue with creativity and research on the 2nd workshop day in June.
