Campaigns for Equal Pay Day 2022
From January 1, 2022 until today, women in Germany have worked "for free". This is because women in Germany earn an average of 18% less than men (Federal Statistical Office 2020). Converted to the whole year, that is 66 days on which they work for free.
This is the bill for Equal Pay Day, which draws attention to gender pay inequality in Germany today. Throughout the week, there will be campaigns on the topic. This is also the case in Dortmund: Under the motto "Care work is MORE WORTH", the Equal Pay Day action alliance is calling for a demonstration through the city on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. The meeting point is Friedensplatz.
