Ein spannendes Jahr 2020 steht den MinTU-Teilnehmerinnen bevor.
The Rudolf Chaudoire Pavilion was well filled on January 23, 2020 - 53 schoolgirls and nine mentors got ready together for the start of the next round of MinTU - Mädchen in die TU Dortmund University.

Project manager Jill Timmreck opened the evening and matched the mentors with their students; they will spend a year together. In the end, nine small groups were formed, each with a specific focus ranging from chemical engineering to electrical engineering and information technology.

Students and mentors first had to get to know each other. But the ice was quickly broken with all kinds of games to get to know each other; the laughter increased and curious questions were asked at every table. "My favorite subjects are all STEM," one student proudly announced in response to questions from her mentor. At the table of Blerta, a mechanical engineering student, the first thing that had to be clarified was which subjects are actually relevant for studying: "Math, chemistry, physics. Everything is included. I had problems with physics at school, but here at university we got a lot of help and I recently passed my physics exam!"

The start of the MinTU mentoring year

The girls expressed their expectations for the year together. The consensus: "Just don't get bored!" Together with their mentors, they discussed the course of the project and collected ideas for joint excursions. At the top of the list: The planetarium in Bochum. The two hours flew by and students and mentors alike are looking forward to a year full of workshops, mentoring meetings and excursions together.
